Children’s Portraits | Harper Turns Two

I photographed Molly 2 years ago when she was 9 months pregnant on a Sunday afternoon.Two days later baby Harper popped out of the belly and into the world. Although I have photographed her a couple of times I wanted to post an update now that she just turned two. Harper loves playing “Where’s the baby” with me. What a sweet child.

Family Portrait Photography the Carofino Family

Last week I got a ca ll from George Carofino who told me he was looking for someone to take a family portrait of his son Brad’s family for a Christmas present. The day he selected was this beautiful sunny December before Christmas. Brad and his wife Katy lived very close to Carkeek Park so Jana and I went down and it was wonderful filtered sunlight up on the bluff and after some group pictures we went down to the beach. As I started shooting down there the clouds parted and it started getting warm What a day. Here are a few of the highlights of Brad and Katy’s family with Brad’s father and mother George and Dianne.

Luke Bryan

Every year I get assignments to photograph a number of different subjects and one area I really enjoy is photographing musicians. I wanted to post a couple of pictures I recently took on assignment for Yahoo country music of country singer Luke Bryan. He was passing through Seattle on tour after a gig at the Gorge and stopped off to go fly fishing with with his writing buddy, Jay Clementi, on Puget Sound at Seahurst Park in Burien. Here a couple of the pictures. In case you have not heard of Luke, his third album, “Tailgates and Tanlines” made its debut on August 9th as the number 1 album on Billboard’s country charts and as of today is still stuck there.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day.

Luke was working with expert local fly fishing guide Dave McCoy from Emerald Water Anglers above in red jacket with Jay in the background.

Fremont Solstice Parade: Naked Cyclists

Had a great time at the 23rd annual Solstice Parade in Fremont this year with my daughter Claire. The sheer number of naked cyclists at the start of this years parade was amazing. I remember back not too long ago when there were just a hand full who streaked by. Now they cruise around and around and there were it seemed hundreds of them in all manners of nakedness. Here are just a couple for now since I am overwhelmed by other projects and have to leave town for an assignment.

Signs of Spring

On a pier on Lake Union Seattle, WA. a Mother Goose feeds her baby chick. She had made her nest in a coil of rope at the end of the pier on the north shore of the lake.
I was on an assignment at the waters edge and watched her feeding her chicks before they jumped into the water and paddled off. Another sign of Spring here in the Pacific Northwest.

Border Collie Puppy – Charlie at 7 Weeks

After a play session with his sister Luna, Charlie was tuckered out in need of a nap. I wanted to make a picture of him so I gave him a snack.

A Blue Martini

I had a recent assignment at the Metropolitan Grill in Seattle for an airline magazine which called for me to photograph one of their famous Blue Martinis. Shot on location. It went down easy as I was packing up the lights and tasted good after all was put away. Group Portrait | Teens on The Beach

Friday evening was my daughter Ema’s 13th Birthday and she had some of her friends get together to celebrate with us at Carkeek Park. The weather which was threatening on thursday and Friday morning, cleared up and it turned out to be beautiful evening. I got them all together for a group picture down on the beach with the Sound and Olympics behind them in the distance sometime after sunset.
